We are well into our 2008-09 school year! This year promises to be exciting and a productive one. Every teacher, counselor, dean, coach, support staff, administrator and classified staff is committed to making this a year that all students achieve at their highest potential. My expectation for the students attending Carnegie Middle School is that every child will succeed at his/her highest potential.
Carnegie Middle School has a mission statement that says we are "committed to fostering a safe and civil learning environment, developing all students to their fullest potential in becoming responsible, productive citizens."
Students are our focus. It is our goal to educate all students to become life-long learners and develop skills that will support their success in our global society. This we will accomplish by providing highly qualified teachers and staff, textbooks for all students, implementing a rigorous instructional program and plenty of parental involvement.
Parental involvement is a very integral part of our school mission. I hope that each of you will play an important role to support and help make this a successful year. I encourage you to become a member of one or more of our school councils or become a parent volunteer. Please join me for a special informal meeting every fourth Tuesday, Coffee with the Principal. This is an opportunity for parents to meet with me, the Principal, and discuss concerns and issues regarding our school, safety, staff, and students.
